Purpose:  To obtain Council direction regarding appointments to the Regional District Board and establish voting assignments for each Director.


Recommendation:  That Council:

  1. Appoint the eight Council members with the highest number of votes at the municipal election as Municipal Directors to the Regional District of Nanaimo Board and appoint the remaining Council member as the Alternate Municipal Director for the period 2022-NOV-07 – 2026-NOV-03 to coincide with the Council term; and
  2. Assign 5 votes to each Municipal Director.

Purpose:  To appoint one Library Board Trustee and one alternate to the Vancouver Island Regional Library Board.


Recommendation:  That Council appoint one Councillor as a trustee to the Vancouver Island Regional Library (VIRL) Board and one Councillor as an alternate for the period January 1 to December 31, 2023.
