Minutes of the Governance and Priorities Committee Meeting held in the Shaw Auditorium, Vancouver Island Conference Centre, 80 Commercial Street, Nanaimo, BC, on Monday, 2023-OCT-23, at 1:01 p.m.

To be introduced by Bill Sims, General Manager, Engineering and Public Works.


Purpose:  To provide the Governance and Priorities Committee with information on the status of current traffic calming projects and to provide funding options for Extension Road traffic calming installation.


Recommendation:  That the Governance and Priorities Committee recommend that Council approve phasing the construction of Extension Road traffic calming using $200,000 in the 2023 Financial Plan with the remainder to be identified in 2024.

To be introduced by Bill Corsan, Director, Corporate and Business Development. 


Purpose:  To provide the Governance and Priorities Committee with background information on the City of Nanaimo's development incentive programs and to seek direction to proceed with a number of proposed revisions.


Presentation:

Recommendation:  That the Governance and Priorities Committee provide direction on the proposed changes to the development incentive programs.
