Holden Southward to provide a presentation regarding a new vision for Nanaimo in becoming more self-owned, self-determined and self-reliant.

John Hankins to provide a presentation to introduce the Mid-Island Business Initiative (MIBI) as a not-for-profit economic development society that is privately funded, and focused on raising the profile of Mid-Vancouver Island.

Chris Beaton, Executive Director of Nanaimo Aboriginal Centre, and Joy Bremner, President of the Mid-Island Metis Nation, will introduce the Nanaimo Aboriginal Centre and Mid Island Metis Nation, request endorsement for Indigenous Peoples Place of Culture and request that Council include National Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21) as a supported community event in the City's annual budget.

Arlin Sansome to speak regarding limits on time allowed for outbuildings and fabric covered structures to be set up.  Request to increase the number of days allowed, remove limit all together, or remove fabric covered structures from bylaw.

Les Barclay to provide a presentation regarding his Top 10 List for Nanaimo City Council for 2018-2022. 

To be introduced by Bill Sims, Director of Engineering and Public Works.

Purpose:  To obtain Council direction on the regulation of single-use plastic checkout bags.

Delegation:

Recommendation:  That Council direct Staff to proceed with consultations to implement a bylaw regulating the use of single-use plastic checkout bags.

To be introduced by Karen Fry, Fire Chief.

Purpose:  To provide an update of the Fire Station #1 Replacement Project.

Recommendation:  That the Fire Station 1 Replacement Update report, dated 2018-NOV-26, be received for information.

Purpose:  To provide an update to Council on the status and background of the Port Theatre Community Performing Arts Centre (CPAC) project.

Recommendation:  That the “Port Theatre Community Performing Arts Centre (CPAC) Update” report, dated 2018-NOV-26, be received for information.

At the "In Camera" Council meeting, held 2018-NOV-19, Council appointed Ms. Michelle Corfield as the City's representative to the Nanaimo Port Authority Board effective immediately, for a term ending 2021-JUN-30.
